Camp PlayOUT is excited to offer 6 sessions during the summer of 2020!
Themes will be explored daily through hands-on immersive learning stations and story time during lunch.
Summer Session 1: July 6--July 10. Junior Naturalist: Enrich your child’s natural curiosity and encourage physical activity in the outdoors through this hands-on environmental awareness experience. Campers will explore a variety of topics relating to the natural world each day and gain an understanding of their important role in helping to protect it. Each camper will have the opportunity to earn a Junior Naturalist Certificate.
Summer Session 2: July 13--July 17. Maker's Space: Let your imagination guide you as you make inventive creations. This week we will encourage tinkering, play, and open-ended exploration with a variety of projects and materials.
Summer Session 3: July 20--July 24. Life Skills: This week is all about learning a variety of useful life skills. Campers will learn ways to stay safe when they are home alone, principles of outdoor survival including shelter building and fire making, what to do if you are lost, basic first-aid/CPR, and self defense. Each camper will have the opportunity to earn a Life Skills Certificate.
Summer Session 4: July 27--July 31. Storytellers: Join in on the fun as we explore many ways to share and be part of a story. Our days will be filled with plays, poetry, projects, and games that will foster each camper's storytelling skills.
Summer Session 5: August 3--August 7. Let's Play: From field games to board games, this week is all about playing games! Campers will have the opportunity to flex relationship building skills while playing a variety of team sports. Each camper will have the opportunity to earn a TrueSport Certificate for learning and practicing teamwork and sportsmanship.
Summer Session 6: August 10--August 14. Art Outside: This week campers will explore color, shape, and texture as they create art in and from nature. We will play with different art concepts and techniques, closely observe the beauty of the world around us, and use natural materials to create both permanent and ephemeral art works.
